13 Days Of Halloween

The Thirteen Days of Halloween
This is a wonderful book especially for those of you who love holiday traditions. Kids will love the familiarity of the tune (12 Days of Christmas) to go along with all the wonderful imagery of Halloween!! My daughter loves it..it's just a lot of fun. I give it the highest rating.

Great for the Classroom!
I highly recommend this book. I am an English as a Second Language teacher, and I used this book in my classroom in the days leading up to Halloween. It was a hit with the kids! We read a page a day and the kids chimed in as I read all of the previous days' verses. They learned some interesting new vocabulary (creeping, wizards, screeching) and had fun doing it. The pictures are as imaginative as the rhymes and also helped draw my students into the story. I wish I purchased the hardback version because my copy has become dogeared.

I cannot say enough about this book. I couldn't put it down. The author led me through his daily journal of every emotion possible during Desert Storm. Being a military spouse with a deployed husband. This book helped me to realize what my soldier must be facing and the harch conditions he has to live in. I felt love, compassion, anger, disgust at the injustice of war. My heart was torn for this soldier and his family. I felt the frustration, fear, joy and anger. I highly recommend this book for everyone rather military, spouse or just everyday reader. The author opens your eyes, your mind and your heart. I hope to see more from this author in the future.

131 Days
I highly recommend this book to everyone, especially those in the military. Mr. Haigler's views about the war are so honest. I love how he expresses his feelings to include loneliness, disgust, sympathy, fear, and happiness. Being a military spouse, I can totally feel the emptiness he felt being away from his wife and children. This book is definitely a page turner and hard to put down. He keeps the book entertaining; just when you think something serious is about to happen, he puts in a joke to lighten the mood. I am a nurse and was thrilled to read about the skills he performed in the field under terrible conditions and lack of supplies. Once again, I loved the book and would like to see more by this author.

14 days is just not enough
I wanted this book to go on and on. It contains everything from what to eat, how to excersize, beauty and inner peace. There are many things that you can apply to your daily life, changing many habits for the better. I use it as a reference book to find remedies for ailments or just the right recipe for a relaxing bath. I hope Ms. Vukovic is planning another book for the future.

Worth every cent and MORE!
I really love this book! It is concise and to the point, yet gental and easy to read. Love it! Definately worth the modest price of it. This book will help everyone in your family, you and everyone you know! Highly recommended.

Straightforward suggestions for a healthier life!
"'How To'... books have always put me off. They tend to over-promise and over-simplify. Don Ardell's newly revised "14 Steps to Wellness" does neither. It is written for those of us who think of wellness as overwhelming and unachievable. No Nirvana here. No miracles. Just straightforward 'doable' suggestions for developing a healthier, happier life. What more could we ask from the guy who started it all?"

1621: A New Look At Thanksgiving
Published in Hardcover by National Geographic (01 September, 2001)
Authors: Grace, Sisse Brimberg, and Plimoth Plantation
Average review score:

A Refreshing View of the real Thanksgiving
I highly recommend this book. As the daughter of a Cherokee-English African-American woman, educator and grandmother I was always taught the truth along with my brothers about this very important holiday/harvest festival. Early on we were taught to share what we had with the less fortunate and to give to others who really needed something. Also my grandmother the late, great Hattie Little-Tabor who was my mom's mother fed homless people who stopped by her home during the Great Depression. This book brought back full circle the fact that we must all strive to work together to overcome greed to serve all in need. I highly recommend this book.

An exquisite book
This is a beautifully written and exquisitely photographed book about the first Thanksgiving celebration in 1621 (according to the Western calendar). The photos were taken during re-enactments at Plimoth Plantation, and are historically accurate as well as lovely to look at. The text gives the Wampanoag perspective on the event with sensitivity and vibrancy. All in a book that is clearly successful in engaging young readers, no matter how much or how little they already know--or think they know--about the history of Thanksgiving.

21 Days to a Healthy Heart
Published in Paperback by Diet Heart Publishing (April, 2002)
Author: Alan Watson
Average review score:

A must read for everyone!
This book has got to be one of the most informative books that I have read on the subject of heart disease. A very easy read with so much information that you want to read it more then just once. I was able to understand what I was reading, which is a rare in this field. Thank you so much for sharing your information Mr. Watson!

The Big Bad Wolf is Fiction...(really)
Alan Watson's latest publication is an oxymoron to say the least.

The least being what our medical community has lead us to believe, that's what's killing us is an overindulgence in the products that we all feel BAD about eating, but love so much.

He mightly challenges the rhetoric that has been "shoved down our throats" (all pun intended) by the medical establishment.
To encourage us to eat MEAT, EGGS and CHEESE (lions, tigers and bears, OH MY!!!),is an insult to our mentality, yes??
I say NO!

Through years of study, fact-finding, and interviews with established nutrition specialists, he has published a guide that disputes the MYTHS and gets down to the real "skinny" with "21 Days to a Healthy Heart".

Emphasizing that through a scheduled plan of diet and moderate exercise, natural mineral supplements, and being cognizant of our health needs, we can live a healthy and (somewhat) indulgent lifestyle.

His particular concerns about sugar intake and Diabetes is a must read for everyone.
As an individual that has spent his life "riding the fence" between exercise and love of "dangerous" foods, I've found this book an invaluable tool in my quest of a balanced culinary lifestyle.

I highly recommend this to all, regardless of age, gender or country of origin.

Go ahead and read what you've been missing.

30 Days to Happiness: Setting Yourself Up to Win in Life
Published in Paperback by Life Mastery Inst Productions (July, 1990)
Author: Liah Kraft-Kristaine

It Works!
30 Days To Happiness Is A Gift! I received this book as a gift from the author herself. Totally unaware at the time who the author was, or exactly what this book was about, I had no idea how profoundly my life was about to change. That was five years ago, and today I am still appplying this book to my daily living! Many of us have struggled from one self-help book to the next, positve changes occur for awhile, but they never seem to last. That is exactly why this book works...for 30 days the reader devotes a few minutes to the daily exercises. They are simple and practical and best of all, they work! As my life transformed before my eyes, day after day I saw and felt the improvements. Through reprogramming our mind to being more positve, we are then more productive, whole, and happy human beings! There is no longer a need to fall back to the old behaviors. The daily particiption in the exercises performed for the thrity days are now apart of our daily lives. This is a must for anyone wanting lasting positive changes that will result in a lifetime of happiness! I have given this book to many friends, after reading it, you will too!

following this book step by step saved my life
When I was first introduced to this book, I thought it was just "another one of those" self-help books. This one helped me focus on one day at a time, helped my mind focus on becoming happy on a daily basis instead of my problems. I DO NOT exaggerate when I say it truly saved my life. I keep several on hand at all times to share.

31 Days Of Wisdom & Praise

Mine is worn out after years of daily use!
I bought this in a used bookstore for [$$] in 1997, and have made it part of my daily routine ever since. I started using this after having used the one-year bible and one year new testament for several years each, and wanted something that didn't cut off passages in midstream....I especially wanted more of the Psalms, since the prayers of others are a wonderful way to hear God's voice speaking to your own life.

The bonus was, I found some wonderful passages in Proverbs that seem to be written just for me.

Each day, you read 5 Psalms, and a chapter of Proverbs. This isn't a substitute for studying the rest of scripture, but is a wonderful devotional habit I plan to continue for the rest of my life.

A Steady Diet of God's Word
This is a wonderful way to fulfill the need to read a steady diet of God's Word. It allows you to read selected Psalms and Proverbs once every day. It is nicely broken up so that you can turn back and read it over and over without feeling you are missing any part of devotional and yet is not so much that you cannot read and enjoy His Word with only a few minutes a day.
